The Japanese Quail is a small bird renowned for its flavour when fried and eaten. The meat is termed warm and it is generally believed in Kerala that Quail’s eggs are good for ashthmatic patients.
For this year’s Diwali Feast Dinner, the classic ‘Nadan Kada Fry’ or the Traditional Quail or Kada Fry makes its apperance on the menu at Restaurant Chef Pillai in Kochi for the 24th of October. 2022.
Marinated in a mix of Kerala spices, it then deep fried in coconut oil and finished off with green chillies and curry leaves.
