”In the evenings, father and mother would come home in the evenings after a hard day’s labour, carrying fresh fish. While a young Chef Suresh would keenly watch his mother cook the day’s dinner, his elder brother and sister would excitedly discuss the day’s events and happenings.”

Chef Pillai’s recalls his childhood in his autobiographical book ‘RUCHI NIRVANA’ which released in print at the book launch by MALAYALA MANORAMA publications. Filled with flashes of nostalgia, his upbringing in his home by the shores of the Ashtamudi lake is peppered with every day memories told in Chef Pillai’s own style.

The book that tells the life story of Chef Suresh Pillai. ‘RUCHI NIRVANA’ was officially released by Kerala’s Globe trotter and media entrepreuner Sri. Santhosh George Kulangara in a function at the Le Meridian, Kochi on 5th March 2023.
Mr. Dileep was the president of the function. Manorama Books Editor-in-charge Sri. Thomas Dominic introduced the book to the audience while Mr. Sudheer Mohan did the welcome honours. Sri Rasal Shahul who gave the form of letter to Chef Pillai words was gifted a copy by Santhosh George Kulangara for RCP.
